Box Tops

Attention MCES Parents/Caregivers:                     01-28-20

The General Mills Co. has recently changed the “BoxTops for Education” program. In the past, parents submit clipped Boxtops to the school and the coordinator counts, cuts, and sends in the collection to help raise money for the school. While the co. will still accept clipped Boxtops that have not expired, eventually, they will be going entirely “paperless”.

What does this mean to you? If you would like to continue to help support our school by raising Boxtop’s earnings, you can participate in their new program. In a nutshell, you have to download the Boxtops for Education App on your mobile device. When you purchase a Boxtop’s participating product it will have a Boxtops Scanning logo on it (please do not send these in, as I cannot submit those for others, only myself.) After purchasing the product, with a scan code, you log in to the app and it will have you scan your receipt. The earnings will then go into our account (after you specify the school you are supporting).

Unfortunately, at this time, they do not have a way for the coordinator to track the earnings by specific class, but they can put the earnings towards our school. If you use scan and pay at checkout, they also do not have a way to transfer your receipt into the app.

This program is very new and different, but I hope you will consider continuing to help out the school by trying the scanning app if you are able. Thank you,
