Dear Parent or Guardian:
Your child's/children's eligibility status for free meals or milk or reduced-price meals is based on the prior school year's income application or Direct Certification from the state as in SNAP/TANF/Medicaid for meal/milk benefits. If your child has received this free benefit in the past you need to check your child's status on Skyward.
Please note that we are unable to provide further meal/milk benefits unless you complete a Household Eligibility Application with the required information for the current school year. You can obtain this Application from your child's school office -- or call and we can send one home. You may reapply at any time during the school year if you believe a change in circumstances may make you eligible.
We here at the district receive a list monthly from the state to whom is to receive these free benefits. If your child's status was SNAP/TANF/Medicaid then you need to check with the state's office where you obtained those benefits and find out why your child/children are not on the state list anymore to receive those benefits. Also, note that not all children under Medicaid status receive the free lunches. It depends on what the state is giving you for those benefits.
