Mt. Carmel Grade School

America will celebrate her 250th birthday on July 4, 2026!  Weiss was selected by the Mount Carmel Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution to present her winning essay at the February meeting. Madisyn won the 5th grade essay contest, which was themed, "“Lunch with a Signer”.  Madisyn's essay answered the question: If you could go back in time and meet one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence for lunch, who would you choose? How did their actions and service contribute to our Country becoming independent?  Madisyn wrote about William Whipple, a representative from New Hampshire for the Continental Congress in 1776.  Great job Madisyn!
