MCHS Library

Gone are the days of every wall lined with books at the MCHS Library. While we still have a wide selection of fiction and some nonfiction and reference books, the library has taken on a new look. The task of giving the library a makeover started a few years ago. Shelves were taken down and books that were no longer in circulation for many years were removed. There have been many hands involved in this endeavor. The MCHS Alumni Foundation is responsible for the walls and ceiling being painted over Christmas break this year. This change has brought about a fresh and modern atmosphere. The custodians were helpful with many things including the new carpet and trim.  Grant money was applied to purchase some new furniture and decorative items. The Ag department let us become a temporary home to beautiful lush plants, the Art department is working on projects to line the walls, and Mr. Bishop’s classes have a few projects to add to the environment as well.  As the story is told, the library is part of the original school built in 1914 and survived the fire of 1962. The clean and fresh space has been welcomed by the students and staff who frequent the library. So, if you haven’t been in a while stop in and check us out!
