THE ADDAMS FAMILY: BEHIND THE SCENES

Week 1

MCHS musical season is "back from the dead" (literally!) as practices for the 2021 spring musical, The Addams Family, begin. Everyone involved with The Addams Family are all extremely excited to be on stage singing, acting, dancing, and assisting with the musical once again.

The Addams Family musical brings the dark and crazy Addams family back to life as love conquers all. The musical follows Wednesday Addams, now eighteen, finding love in Lucas Beineke--a normal private school boy who lives in Ohio! Before they can get married, Lucas wishes to get his parents' blessing. To accomplish this goal, Wednesday invites Lucas and his family over for dinner. She begs for her family to pretend to act normal, but anything BUT normalcy ensues. The tale of four crazy love stories--Wednesday Addams and Lucas Beineke, Gomez and Morticia Addams, Alice and Mal Beineke, and Fester and the moon (yes, you heard it right here, folks)--fight through hardships and blossom amidst the darkness.

Ancestor characters have been virtually working with Paige Heinrich, the MCHS musical choreographer, with dance practices. Official practices for The Addams Family started off with a script read. Cast members laughed as their fellow actors and actresses recited their lines in the most comedic ways possible. The cast all sang together in large song numbers, such as "When You're An Addams" and "One Normal Night." Thursday night, the Addams family members and the Addams ancestors practiced the opening number, "When You're An Addams." The ancestors, although dead, are working diligently to bring their characters to life! And, of course, the Addams family members are as wacky as ever.

Exclusive interviews with cast members and information about The Addams Family can be found on Aces-TV's 01-22-2021 episode through the MCHS website OR watch here:
