Mt. Carmel Junior High Band & Choir both earn SUPERIOR ratings at the Illinois Grade School Music Association State Contest

On Saturday, March 16, 2024, the Mount Carmel Jr. High Band & Choir traveled to Mt. Vernon, IL, to participate in the Illinois Grade School Music Association (IGSMA) State Organization contest.  Both groups earned the very highest rating of Superior which can only be earned if the panel of judges each give the group a superior rating without consulting each other.  The judges also were able to talk to and work with the ensembles after their performances to enhance the educational experience.  The Jr. High Band & Choir is under the direction of Ellen Wall.
