The Mount Carmel Junior High Music Department, under the direction of Mrs. Ellen Wall, has received the Peter R. Marsh Foundation Grant award for the 3rd consecutive year! This grant in the amount of $1,500 will be used for musical instruments and instrument repair. We received this grant because of our commitment to perform for our area senior citizens throughout the school year. Included in the performances is time to visit with the residents. The students look forward to these performances and visits and the residents are very encouraging to the students in their musical endeavors. According to the Peter R. Marsh Foundation the purpose of the grant is "to provide a remarkable venue and experience for students where their emotional senses are awakened and they are inspired to advance musically, scholastically and socially. It also familiarizes students with the necessity of personal relationships and the harmony of an interrelated community through performances and visitations with local senior citizens."
