Several members of the Mt. Carmel Jr. High Band & Choir auditioned for the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) District 5 Festival ensembles. The following Junior high students were selected from the auditions. For Junior Band: Chandler Kleinschmidt (8th grade, percussion), Karly Mandrell (8th grade, trombone), Aiden McBroom (8th grade, percussion), Ailee Seals (8th grade, clarinet). Junior Choir: Emma Etheridge (8th grade, soprano I), Ava Giese (8th Grade, soprano I), Ryan Groah (7th Grade, baritone), Maycee Randall (8th grade, alto), Gage Wright (7th grade, baritone). Junior Jazz band: Gabe Cirunay (8th grade, tenor saxophone), Gage Wright (7th grade, trumpet).
Congratulations to these students! They will practice and perform at the ILMEA District Festival on Saturday, November 20 for band and choir and Saturday, November 6 for jazz band and jazz choir. Both festivals will be at Eastern Illinois University.
