Mrs. Jones’ 2nd Grade students recently toured First Mid Bank as the final activity in their Unit of Study: All About Money. The students learned how First Mid Bank receives their money for daily operation, sorts coins and bills received from various sources, the different types of jobs within a bank and how damaged paper money is handled. (The students turned in a damaged $1 bill and received a new $1 bill in exchange.) The students also toured the large bank vault. They were not only amazed at the size of the vault, but also the size of the large, round vault door.

This screening program is free and parents will receive immediate feedback on how their child is developing. Head Start personnel will also be present to explain their program and services. Screenings will be held on April 4th, 5th and 6th. Children ages 0-3 will only be screened on April 6th.
