The first day of attendance for kindergartners will be Thursday, August 12th. We will use Wednesday (everybody else's first day) for teachers to meet individually with parents and students. Kindergarten families should plan on meeting with their teacher that day. If daytime is not an option for your family, there will be time slots available on Monday night, during Meet & Greet.

MCES Meet & Greet will be Monday, August 9, from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. Kindergarten parents will be contacted by their student's teacher to schedule a specific time.

Wabash District #348 Preschool for All registration is Monday, Aug. 2nd, from 10 am - 1 pm and 4 pm - 6 pm. Please bring your completed preschool forms and required health documents. 2nd grade water balloon fight!

Happy Fun

Here comes the fun!

More Summer School Photos

I want to give a special shout out to the teachers and the students of MCES summer school. The students said they learned a lot and had fun. Today is the last day and they celebrated with water balloon fights, games and ice cream.

Today is the day for Kindergarten Graduation - Please save the parking lot for people who struggle walking. There will be people helping you with parking so please follow directions. There will be some parking in the Pre-K parking lot. The students will be going back to their room and the teachers will dismiss at their normal areas after the program is totally finished. We will need to clear the parking lot quickly, so please only the parent picking up the child will need to stay. I know this is inconvenient but I appreciate your cooperation. There will be a place to come forward and take a photo during the ceremony, again if only one person would take the photo that would be helpful. Please don't forget your chair, parking lot opens at 12:15 and program starts at 1:00. Looking forward to celebrating with you.

The week of May 3 - 7 was Teacher Appreciation Week. The teachers were overwhelmed by the generosity of the community and the district. We would like to thank Roads Church for the books, gift bags and trays of cookies. Constant Cravings held a teacher appreciation week and gave away door prizes with free chocolates and coffee. Parkview Christian Church brought in donuts for breakfast to honor the teachers. Thank you so much!

Note that ALL children entering 2nd grade in the 2021-2022 school year are required to have a dental examination performed by a licensed dentist who must sign the form. This form must be on file with the school by May 15, 2022. This exam must be recorded on the Illinois State Form and must have been completed within the past 18 months prior to the May 15th deadline (completed between 11/15/120 and 5/15/22). Please get your child's dental visit scheduled as appointments begin to book up fast. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call at 262-5104 ext 112. Stephanie Kolb BSN, RN, PEL-CSN. District Nurse.

This is a reminder from MCES that Kindergarten Graduation is Thursday, May 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the front parking lot of the school. Please bring your own chair. There will be a few parking spots in the parking lot for those who cannot walk far, the rest will have to park in the street or at Pre-K. Please carpool if you can parking is very limited. Thank you for letting us work with your children this year!

MCES would like to thank Brent Whitney for bringing the Mystery Machine to MCES. The students enjoyed visiting with Scooby-Doo and I am amazed at the generosity of our parents and students with all the donations for the Wabash Animal Shelter. They said they needed cat food and you came through. I have attached a picture of the donations early on, but we filled Mrs. Leffler's van. Thank you to all!

I am finding it hard to believe that our crazy school year is coming to an end. Today we celebrated MCES May Star Students of the month. I am very proud of this group of students; after spring break they often find it hard to concentrate. So I am so happy these students received an award.
