This is a reminder that Aly Mae Images will be at Mt. Carmel Elementary School tomorrow to take the photos of 1st and 2nd grade students. No money is due at the time of photos. Photos will be taken in the morning only.
Today, MCES celebrated the February Star Students of the Month. We are very proud of our students. They received a certificate, candy and a junior cone from Tastee Freeze.
Kindergarten: Alydia Allender, Jack Babcock, Fletcher Brock, Brooklyn Cooper, Brogan Ligon, Emeri Loehr, Taylor Mallernee, and Paislee Newlin. Dawson Mills is pictured separately.
First Grade: Dain Alka, Ashton Blevins, Brielle Currington, Johnathan Hall, Josie Lashbrook, Aveah Miller, Jaxon Moore, Sky Schmittler, Jasper Snelling and Parker Vernon.
Second Grade: Max Allender, Elijah Fisher, Jenna Lewis, Ben Miller, Jayden Spencer, Savannah Speth, Hudson Steele, Alayna Swanson, Kyla Tillotson and Dustin Wade.
Spring pictures will be taken at MCES tomorrow for Early Childhood and Kindergarten Students. No money is due at this time.
After discussions with our local health department and state officials, all Wabash #348 schools will discontinue temperature checks at school bus pick ups and when entering the school buildings. We must stress that it is of the utmost importance that you do not send your child to school when he or she is not feeling well. I want to thank everyone with their patience throughout this process. As with everything right now, situations can and will immediately change. Stay safe and Go Aces!
A very special thank you to TCC (the Verizon Store) in Mt. Carmel for donating items to the teachers. They donated: coffee, microwave popcorn, granola bars, hot chocolate, pens, pencils, sticky notes, markers, highlighters, facial tissues and hand sanitizer. MCES really appreciates the items.

The last day of Dr. Seuss week was celebrated with Ms Caren cooking us green eggs and ham. Thank you to all the cafeteria help. There will be several photos in different post.
Students at Mount Carmel Elementary School were excited to receive a free dental kit from our local dentist offices: The Smile Center and Comprehensive Dentist Health Services. Our local dentist and dental hygienist are always willing to demonstrate their knowledge on how to keep dental health a top priority for our students. We want to thank their offices and staff for providing individual kits for each student. The dental kits included: dental floss, a color sheet and a new tooth brush. MCES really appreciates the networking with our community dentist.

MCES Dr. Seuss week continues with Friday's "Green Eggs and Ham" day. Please let your child wear green to school. Also, in the cafeteria for lunch we will be serving green eggs and ham. Please remember 3 hour early release tomorrow. Exactly 3 hours before normal pickup time.

This is also a reminder of Friday, March 5 early dismissal - Kindergarten: 11:30, First Grade: 11:45 and Second grade 12:00, buses will be dismissing at 12:05.

MCES started this week celebrating Dr. Seuss birthday and celebrating reading. Today was "My Many Colored Days". Since this was a virtual day, I only have pictures of the faculty and staff. Looking forward to see the students tomorrow. Most of the 2nd grade team were not present at the time of photos.

Monday: March 1 - "My Many Colored Days" - Wear as many colors as you can. (virtual dress-up day)
Tuesday: March 2 - "Cat in the Hat" - Wear your favorite hat.
Wednesday: March 3 - "Wacky Wednesday" & "Fox in Socks Day" - Wear crazy clothes, hair and socks.
