The Mt. Carmel High School girls tennis match scheduled for Tuesday, August 22nd at Mt. Vernon has been postponed. This match will be rescheduled for Tuesday, October 3rd at 4:00pm in Mt. Vernon.
The Mt. Carmel High School Week 1 football game against Gibson Southern will now start at 8:00pm due to excessive heat. Gates will now open at 6:30pm.
The MCHS Boys Soccer match scheduled for today at Pinckneyville has been postponed. This match will be rescheduled for Monday, October 2nd in Pinckneyville at 4:00pm.
The MCHS Cross Country team will not be running in the Fairfield Invite as previously scheduled. Their first meet will be at Angel Mounds in Evansville on Saturday, August 26th at 9:00am.
Nearly all MCHS and MCJHS students were issued Chromebooks today. Once again we will be offering Chromebook insurance. The insurance covers accidental Chromebook damage such as cracked screens, broken hinges, and liquid submersion as well as accidental damage to chargers. The cost for the insurance for the school year will be $29 and there is no deductible for claims. In order to purchase the insurance, you will need to complete the form below and send $29 to the school office. Cash or checks will be accepted. Your insurance will not be valid until both are complete.
Due to construction of the new concession stand building at the MCHS turf athletic complex, the MCHS Football Gator Bowl has been cancelled for this year. The first chance to watch the Aces will be in the home opener against Gibson Southern on Friday, August 25th at 7:00pm.

The 2023-2024 sports season is officially underway! The Mt. Carmel Boys and Girls Golf teams hosted the Mt. Carmel Invite on 8/10/23. The girls team won the 6 team Invitational while the boys placed 2nd. Great start to the season!
As a reminder, MCHS parking passes will be sold in the Library at the Meet and Greet on Tuesday, August 15th with the following schedule: Seniors: 4:30 - 5:00, Juniors: 5:00 - 5:30, Sophomores: 5:30 - 6:00. Students will be called by class rank. If a student is not able to be there at that time, they can send another person (family member, friend, etc.) in his/her place. Parking passes are $10.
Mt. Carmel High School WELCOME NIGHT is August 15, 4:30 - 6:00 pm. Students can pick up their schedules, purchase parking passes, and participate in guided tours and locker tutorials. The MCHS Boys Basketball Regional Semifinal game scheduled for today in Carmi has been postponed. The Regional Schedule will be pushed back one day, with the Aces playing at 6:00pm against Carmi at Carmi.
The MCHS Boys Track Sectional is today at Mattoon High School. The field events will start at 3:00pm. With running events set to begin at 5:00pm.
FREE SPORTS PHYSICALS! If your student is planning on playing a sport in 2023-2024, get them signed up for a free sports physical and they are cleared for the entire school year! Paperwork needs to be filled out by students/parents BEFORE they can receive their free physical. They can get these papers in the main office. Physicals will take place at Mt. Carmel High School on Wednesday, May 17th.
If you have signed up for summer school transportation and don't need a ride on certain days, you must call the bus garage by 6:30 a.m. (618-262-8539) to cancel transportation. If you do not call and no-show three times, we will not return.
