Mt. Carmel High School Athletic Changes for 4/29 //The Mt. Carmel High School Girls Soccer Match scheduled for today @ Marion has been changed to a HOME game! They will play at the WVC Soccer field at 5:00. // The Mt. Carmel High School JV Baseball game scheduled for today @ home against Mt. Vernon has been POSTPONED. We are looking for a possible make up date.
All other Athletic Contests scheduled for today are still ON as of 10:00am today.
MCHS Yearbook order forms and information will be sent home with students to order yearbooks. The students that are missing pictures have also been contacted.
Class of 2024 yearbook base price is $50
Class of 2021, 2022, 2023 are a base price of $75
Class of 2020 is a base price of $50

BOYS - From Coach Peach: The Mt. Carmel Boys track team finished 4th at Lawrenceville on Tuesday. Gavin Smith won the High Jump with a jump of 6’1” and placed third in the Triple Jump with a best of 36’6”. Beau Stipp Won the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.08 and placed third in the 100 with a time of 11.58. Anthony Bleyer finished first in the 800 meter run. Jason Miller placed fourth in the 3200 and placed 5th in the 1600 with times of 11:55 and 5:34. Dayton Brimm placed third in the Long Jump with a jump of 18”-5”. Eric Leffler placed 3rd in the 800 with a time of 2:27.18. Shane Weir placed second in the 200 with a time of 24.62 and placed fourth in the 100 with a time of 11.74.
GIRLS: From Coach Schwartz: Competing with only 11 girls, the Mt. Carmel Lady Aces finished in 3rd place out of 5 teams yesterday in Lawrenceville. First place finishers for the Lady Aces are as follows.

Haley Wright - High Jump - 5'0"
There were numerous 2nd and 3rd place finishers for the Lady Aces. The Lady Aces will be back in action tomorrow at home.

MCHS Color Guard Workshop/Tryouts for 2021-2022. May 11, 12 & 13, 3:30-6:00 p.m.
For the incoming 2021-2022 Senior student, the Meningitis vaccine is a required immunization for registration. The Wabash County Health Department will be at MCHS in the Health Office on Wednesday, May 5th during the morning hours to give the required vaccine to your child. If this is something your would like your child to participate in please email me at skolb@wabash348.com so I can send you the consent form which must be completed prior to your child receiving the vaccine. A copy of your insurance card is also needed. This immunization is the only health requirement for their senior year and this would alleviate the need to make an appointment during the summer to get the vaccine. Illinois Science Assessment - Reminder to all Juniors, the Illinois Science Assessment will be Monday, 4/26. Juniors will need to arrive at the school no later than 8:15. Students will need their fully charged chromebook and wired earbuds. Testing should conclude around 11:30-12:00.
Does your child ever wonder what they want to do when they grow up? The good news is that MCHS partnered with Junior Achievement, who has provided a virtual resource called Job Spark, which is intended to help students explore eight career clusters. The F/S football game scheduled for Saturday, April 24th with Olney has been cancelled due to low numbers in the Olney football program. The F/S Football team ends the season with a perfect 5-0 record.

Congratulations to MCHS sophomore Carli Merritt for winning the Americanism essay contest in the Wabash Unit, the Twenty-Third District, and the Fifth Division. She was awarded the certificates along with a $50 check from the local Americanism Chairman, Mary Jimmie Moade. The essay has been sent to the next level. Great job Carli!!!
