
The MCHS Boys Basketball Game scheduled for Tuesday, January 7th against Eldorado has been POSTPONED. This game will be rescheduled on Saturday, January 18th at Mt. Carmel High School. There will be a freshmen/sophomore game starting at 2:00pm, JV game at 3:30pm and Varsity game at 5:00pm.

Due to the hazardous road conditions and the continuing clearing efforts, Wabash 348 schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 7 and Wednesday January 8. Stay safe and Go Aces!

The MCHS Wrestling Match scheduled for Monday, January 6th against Richland County has been POSTPONED. This match has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 4th at 6:00pm at Mt. Carmel High School.

The MCHS Girls Basketball Game scheduled for Monday, January 6th has been POSTPONED. This game has been rescheduled for Friday, January 17th at Henderson County, with the JV game starting at 6:00pm and the varsity game to follow.

MCHS Final Exams are this week! The final exam exemption list will be posted tomorrow, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at MCHS. Students will need to check the lists as they enter the building. Students in Mrs. Witsman's Illustrator class had a gingerbread house competition. The staff voted on the best digital design. Dylan and Brook were the big winners!


Due to low numbers in the Richland County Basketball Program, the F/S Boys Basketball games that were scheduled for Thursday, December 19th at Olney and Thursday, January 9th at Mt. Carmel have both been CANCELLED.

Taco Tierra will be awarding 2 $500 scholarships toward the Nursing program at WVC. Applications are available in the guidance office. The deadline is March 20, 2025.

The Jason Ile Memorial Scholarship is now available in the Guidance Office.

The Brian Wright Memorial Scholarship is now available in the Guidance Office

Wayne K. Morris Memorial Scholarship
Wayne’s wishes are being honored by providing a $2,000 scholarship to Mt. Carmel High School graduates who plan on attending Wabash Valley Junior College or the University of Illinois.
Guidelines:
2.5 GPA or better
Must plan to attend WVC or University of Illinois in the fall.
Applications are available in the Guidance office. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2025.

The Stu Grant Gavel Scholarship is now available in the Guidance Office. To be considered for this scholarship you must have been a member of at least one of these organizations to apply.

The Olney Central College Foundation has posted the 2024-2025 scholarship application. This is a single application for all of the foundation's scholarships.
Five scholarships are available to high school seniors who plan to attend OCC in the fall of 2025.
Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The deadline is March 1, 2025.

The JV Boys Basketball Game schedule for Tuesday, December 10th at Evansville Day School has been CANCELLED. The Varsity game will now be played at 6:00pm at Evansville Day School.

Mrs. Witsman's Computer Apps classes visited MCES today. They read their digital children's stories that were written and illustrated by the students. It was a fun morning!

For all District #348 Athletic Events: All students younger than high school age must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult at all times. This policy is designed to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees. Thank you, and GO ACES!


Our annual science fair judging was held December 4th after school. A big shout out to our community members who helped with the judging process and to all of the students who chose to have their project judged. The students that will be going on to the district science fair at SIU in Carbondale are Josie James, Dani Arano, Luis Bohorquez, Grayson Roberts, and Lucy Hall.
