The Illinois Masonic Children’s Assistance Program (IMCAP), an Illinois Freemasonry Charity is partnering with the Southern Masonic Lodges in offering the N. G. Cowen Scholarship for the third year. The Cowen Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Master Mason Norredden Gene Cowen by his wife.
The goal of the Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to young adults from small towns in Southern Illinois, who are pursuing a training in the vocational or technical fields. The Cowen family hopes this scholarship will not only bless the lives of young people, but also benefit the towns to which they might return to as skilled workers and craftsmen. With this particular vision in mind, Mrs. Cowen has instilled the following requirements. Applicants must:
- Plan to attend or be currently enrolled in a trade school, vocational classes at a college,
community college, GED or apprenticeship program
- Reside in a town in the Southern Area with a population under 10,000
- Be 25 years old or younger
- Be in need of financial assistance
- Have had a high school GPA of 3.3 or lower.
- Receive Referral Endorsement from an Illinois Mason in any Masonic affiliation.
- Return completed application by March 31, 2021.

Seniors: 2021 SIU Credit Union Scholarships. SIU Credit Union offers graduating seniors enrolling into a four-year university the opportunity to apply for one of five $1000 Scholarships. All applicants must be submitted no later than Wednesday, March 31, 2021. Scholarship winners will be announced in May 2021.

Gill Orthodontics is pleased to continue their scholarship program which has been offered since 2004. Two nonrenewable $1000 scholarships are awarded yearly to eligible high school seniors who are in treatment or have completed treatment with Gill Orthodontics. The 2020 recipients were Sierra Goebel from Evansville Day School and Joshua Mijares from Reitz Memorial High School. $2,000 High School Senior Scholarship Application Open Only to Students Seeking Degrees in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or High School Chemistry Teaching
The Chemical Industry Council of Illinois, through the Illinois Chemical Education Foundation (ICEF) presents a number of $2,000 scholarships each year to top high school senior science students. We welcome all applications for the ICEF scholarships..
The ICEF's objective is to recognize and honor high school seniors who have exemplified outstanding achievement in academics, extracurricular/employment activities and community involvement.
Please submit the following information postmarked no later than Friday, February 19, 2021, and received no later than Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
Name, address (include zip code), email and telephone number only on a cover page
Official high school transcript (MUST have either an official seal or enclosed in a sealed envelope with a signature of school official across the seal) including grade point average with scale.
Rank in high school class
ACT/SAT/PSAT scores (Either through Official transcript or from the ACT)
Two letters of recommendation from teachers, including one science teacher. The letter MUST be on official letterhead and signed.
A one page essay on "How did you become interested in your chosen college major and where do you hope it takes you?"
List of extracurricular activities, including community service, awards and accomplishments, and employment/work experience

As we approach the second semester of the 2020-21 school year, this is a reminder that January 4th is a remote learning day and January 5th is scheduled for returning to in-person instruction. If your child opted to be a remote learner in the first semester but now wants to return to in-person instruction, you are required to contact the school office one day in advance. As usual, Wabash CUSD #348 will be maintaining all COVID-19 safety precautions and will continue to work with the Wabash County Health Department to make the best decisions when considering safety factors. Seniors: Farm Credit Diversity In Agriculture Scholarship. Apply at www.farmcreditIL.com/scholarship
On Thursday, December 10th, all MCGS, MCJHS, and MCHS students will be invited to participate in a Google Meet session. MCGS students will be meeting, virtually, with their homerooms where MCJHS and MCHS students will be meeting, virtually, with their 3rd period class. This will take place at 10:00 am and the students will have an invite in their school email or Google Classroom. This meeting should last approximately thirty minutes and be a good opportunity for our students to interact with their classmates and their teacher, mask-free. This is also an opportunity for the schools to monitor their technologies. If you have any questions, please contact the MCGS or MCHS/MCJHS office.
