School pictures will be coming home this week. Due to the short turnaround, we will be delaying picture retakes until Tuesday, October 27th. Picture retakes are for those students who were absent on picture day, the student has a free pass due to the quality of the picture, and for students who would like to pay $5 to get a different photo taken.

MCJHS/MCHS will be serving a grab and go lunch today from 11:00 - 12:00. Stop by outside the main entrance if you are hungry.

Due to a student that has tested positive, the junior / senior high school will be in remote learning tomorrow, October 13th. This precaution is for our staff and the health department to perform contact tracing. We anticipate this remote learning to be for one day. The grade school and elementary school will still be in session for in-person instruction. Once again, the junior / senior high school will be in remote learning tomorrow, October 13th.

Opportunity for Remote Learners to Return to In-Person
After two weeks of successful four day in-person learning in the schools, we are confident that we can accommodate more students. We have had calls from numerous parents requesting that their child return to in-person instruction. Therefore, we are announcing a window for remote learners to return to in-person instruction. This window will be October 13th-16th. This opportunity coincides with the beginning of the second quarter. This opportunity will not reemerge until the end of the first semester. If you do want your child to return to in-person instruction, prior to returning you must notify the school office at least one day before the student may return to in-person instruction.

REMINDER:
Dear Parents / Guardians,
This letter is to inform you about the Wabash Community Unit School District #348 breakfast program. Wabash District #348 has a breakfast program like our lunch program. As we mourn the tragic loss of one of our own students, we want to make parents aware that we have grief counseling available on site. We have two licensed counselors with our three social workers available and on staff daily. Our students may walk in at any time during the school day (including our remote learners), email Mrs. Morris (smorris@wabash348.com), or a parent is welcome to call the guidance office at 262-8886.

If you are interested in being on the 2020-2021 yearbook staff, please send an email to Mrs. Riggs or Mrs. Bobbitt or stop by room 171 and let them know you are interested. Yearbook meetings will be held during lunch periods as needed.

As a reminder, Picture Day for junior and senior high students is this Wednesday and Thursday. Here is the link to order the pictures online.

First quarter midterm has passed at MCHS & MCJHS. If you have not done so yet, please log into Lumen and check your student's grades. If you do not know how to log on, call the school. If you have a question about a specific grade, it is best to start by emailing the teacher(s).

School Pictures for junior and senior high students are coming up on Wednesday, September 16th and Thursday, September 17th. Pictures will be taken outside and in front of the school. For those students who are in full remote learning mode, feel free to stop by to get your picture taken for the yearbook. If you have any questions, please call the school at 262-5104.

The student option to remain in full remote learning or transfer to in-person learning deadline is September 11, 2020. After September 11th, students in full remote learning will remain in full remote learning until the end of the first semester, December 18, 2020.
As a reminder, students in full remote learning must comply with the following: a) Reliable internet access. b) Parent/Guardian commitment to supervise and assist in the facilitation of learning in the home environment. c) Must be periodically progress monitored by trained
Wabash #348 personnel. This may entail in-person progress monitoring at the school.
Parents are encouraged to work with the administration and teachers throughout this process.

There will be no charge to ALL Wabash District #348 students for breakfast and/or lunch through first semester ending December 18, 2020. The Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it would allow schools to continue serving free meals to all kids through the end of 2020.
