
After a fun lunch at Taco Tierra, the MCJHS Scholastic Bowl team traveled to their second match of the season in West Salem. They defeated West Salem but fell to New Hope. Players winning toss-up questions were Katelyn Kline (1), Macy Mandrell (4), Ayden Oliver (8), Alexa Norrick (1) and Mark Risley (1). Great job to all players!





MCJHS Spring Pictures are coming up on Thursday, March 12th. This is for any student who is wanting to take a Spring Picture.



The Mt. Carmel Junior High Volleyball match on Wednesday, March 4th with St. Marys has been Postponed and RESCHEDULED for Wednesday, March 11th. The C team game will start at 5:15 at Mt. Carmel Grade School, with the B team game and the A team game to follow. This will also be 8th Grade Night.

Class of 2025 Presents LASER TAG, February 29th, 6 p.m.-9 p.m at the 4-H Anderson Building. 1 Round-$3.00 / Unlimited Play-$10.00. Concessions available. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

MCJHS Boys Basketball celebrated their 1st place SIJHSAA Regionals with a fun-filled Pep Rally. Go Aces!

Celebrating 8th Grade Night with Girls Basketball! Go Aces!!

MCJHS 7th grade student, Natalie Roberts, pictured with Mrs. Kendall, is the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) essay contest “The Voyage of the Mayflower” winner. Natalie took her readers on an adventure aboard the Mayflower that spent two months at sea then finally landed at Plymouth Colony on November 8, 1620. Congratulations, Natalie!

The 7th and 8th Grade Girls Basketball game that was postponed on December 16th at Flora will be rescheduled for Tuesday, January 7th at 6:00 p.m. @ Flora.

The MCJHS hall is bright with Christmas school spirit! The 7th grade students have decorated their Christmas tree with ornaments with each students name. Monthly, they are going to decorate their hall in a different theme. Each 7th grader will be involved. Nice job Aces!


ATHLETIC ANNOUNCEMENT: The Mount Carmel Jr. High 7th-8th Girls Basketball tonight 12/16/19 at Flora has been POSTPONED. Flora Jr High School had school cancelled due to snow, and can not have an athletic contest this evening. The game will be rescheduled at a later date.

A selection of Mt. Carmel Jr Sr High School Music Students travel to Charleston, Illinois for the ILMEA Junior & Senior Concert Festival at Eastern Illinois University. They will spend their Saturday learning music from selected elite ILMEA conductors and perform concerts starting at 4:00 p.m. at EIU. Go Aces!!



Mt. Carmel Junior High would like to invite the community to attend their Science Fair Open House on Friday, November 22, 2019. The Science Fair will run from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. in the Main Gym. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m.

Class of 2025 presents NEON NIGHTS GLOW DANCE - November 23!!


Natalie Roberts, Glenna McVaigh, Ethan Sellers and Wyatt Alka participated in the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) District 5 Jazz Jr. High Jazz Band on Monday, November 4 at Eastern Illinois University. They were selected by audition for this honor. Their day concluded with a wonderful concert in the evening.

This is Mr Bones. He was built by Dalton Alka, Nick Lowe, and Maddie Carlisle in Mrs. Gill's Science Class with help from Mrs. Kelsey Beckerman and Ms. Lori Kroll. The students have learned a lot about bones and are able to name many of them as well.
