Big shout out to Willy Banks and Gehrig Jones for working together to installing our new automated watering system in the greenhouse. It was no easy task. They ran a small crew of helpers, put the nozzles into the lines (over 50), hung and wired up the system, troubleshooted problems, and made it just in time for seedlings. They were each rewarded by receiving $250 for their time and hard work! We can't thank them enough.
MCHS Wrestling Team Awards. Great season with three advancing to IHSA Sectionals, Zeke Swanson, Satchel Taylor and Jordan Wood! Zeke Swanson received MVP for the Aces Wrestling 2022. Go Aces!

The advanced horticulture class has spent several weeks learning about maple syrup production. They went out and identified maple trees, tapped the trees, and checked them regularly. We missed the prime sap production week but still collected 20 gallons of sap. The students then boiled it down into maple syrup! We then enjoyed the work of our labor by eating pancakes and then packaging up the rest in little souvenir bottles. Needless to say, we started a new tradition!
Today Vet Science students learned how to complete a fecal floatation, checking their animals for internal parasites. We found a few animals definitely have some internal worms by finding their eggs, and should be dewormed. It is important NOT to deworm just to deworm, that creates super worms that become extremely hard to get ride of, just do a fecal sample, plus it's cheaper.
Hope to see you tomorrow at the Eagles for the Mt. Carmel FFA Cornhole Contest!
