MCHS Athletic Announcement:
The Girls Basketball game scheduled for Thursday, February 3rd at Red Hill has been moved to Tuesday, February 1st. The game will be played at Red Hill with the JV game starting at 6:15 and the varsity game to follow.
Mount Carmel Wrestlers placed 5th at the Eastern Illinois tournament today. The 15 team tournament was held in Lawrenceville. Mount Carmel took 12 wrestlers and 10 of them placed!

The Girls Basketball Game Scheduled for Monday, January 31st against Webber Township High School has been canceled. The Lady Aces Basketball team will receive a forfeit win. The Lady Aces will be in action next at Red Hill on Thursday, February 3rd.
MCHS Athletic Announcement: The boys fresh/soph basketball game scheduled for Wednesday, February 2nd at Carmi has been canceled. This game will not be made-up.
Kyle Andrews Memorial Scholarship Fund
The purpose of the Kyle Andrews Memorial Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a local High School senior looking to further his or her educational career. Our focus will be primarily on students interested in a vocational field, but the scholarship is open to any and all high school seniors at Mt. Carmel High School. Our goal is to find a student that will best represent the Kyle Andrews Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Applications may be obtained from the High School Guidance Counselor’s office. Deadline noon on March 31, 2022.

Due to an increase in the absences of faculty and staff, Mount Carmel High School and Mount Carmel Junior High School students will go into remote learning for the rest of this week. January 20 to January 21. Over the weekend, we will assess the situation and make a determination on resuming in school learning. All extra curricular activities will remain on schedule. Tonight’s Freshman/Sophomore Basketball game scheduled for Wednesday, January 19th against North Posey, will be played at Mt. Carmel Grade School. There will be one game and it will start at 6:00pm.
Wabash General Hospital is offering a $500 scholarship for students interested in healthcare. The application is available in the Guidance office. Deadline is April 30, 2022

Congratulations to Maya Bowers, 12th and Hailey Groah, 10th for being recognized at the competitive Scholastics Art Exhibition Southern Region at Cedarhurst Art Gallery in Mt. Vernon. Out of 614 entries these students were among the 165 selected to display their work in the exhibit. Maya was awarded a Silver Key Award and Hailey was awarded an Honorable Mention!

Gill Orthodontics
Gill Orthodontics is pleased to continue their scholarship program which has been offered since 2004. Two nonrenewable $1000 scholarships are awarded yearly to eligible high school seniors who are in treatment or have completed treatment with Gill Orthodontics. Applications are available on their website www.gillorthodontics.com or one may be picked up in the Guidance Office. Deadline is March 24, 2022.
