MCHS along with WVC will host a FAFSA Night at MCHS on 10/26 from 5:30-7:00 in the cafeteria to assist families in filling out the FAFSA for Senior graduation/College admissions. If wanting a spot reserved or more information please contact the MCHS guidance office.

Picture Retake Day is coming up next Wednesday, October 19th. These pictures are for those that need to get pictures taken for the first time or for students who need to get them retaken due to a problem with picture quality. If students need to get them retaken, they need to return the old picture that day. Again, it is very important that every student has a picture taken for Skyward and also for the yearbook. For seniors, we also send these pictures off to local newspapers who request them. Here is the link to order pictures if you haven't already ordered them this year. http://alymaeimages.hhimagehost.com/RetakeMCHSMCJHS

After Friday, the remaining yearbooks will be available for pickup in the office. Contact Nathan Wheatley, nwheatley@wabash348.com with any questions.

The induction ceremony of the inaugural class of the Mt. Carmel High School Athletic Hall of Fame will now be held at 6:30 PM prior to the 7 PM kickoff Friday night, September 30, between the Golden Aces and Newton Eagles. The change in time is being made to ensure the committee has the appropriate amount of time to recognize these outstanding athletes, teams and coaches. All fans are encouraged to be at the stadium Friday night for the 6:30 PM presentation.

Have you purchased Chromebook insurance yet? There were two Chromebooks within the last week with broken screens, which will cost $100 each because they did not have insurance. The new touch screens will cost even more. The open enrollment period for the Chromebook insurance closes on October 17th. You can purchase the insurance online at schooldevicecoverage.com or pick up a paper order form at the school. Either way, make sure you have your child's Chromebook serial number available. It is usually listed on the back next to SN. Good vision or a magnifying glass will help. Reach out to the school with any questions you may have.

Mt. Carmel High School has added a freshman/sophomore football game at Evansville Mater Dei on Thursday, September 29th at 5:30. The game will be played at Mater Dei High School.

The Mt. Carmel High School Soccer Match scheduled for Tuesday, September 27th at home against Vincennes Rivet has been postponed due to injuries on the Vincennes Rivet Soccer team. We are working on finding a new date to reschedule this contest.

Head Lice Information: With colder weather coming and kiddos spending more time together in closer spaces, it is time to be a little more aware of head lice. Just a reminder that scratching is the most common sign of lice, especially if the child is scratching behind the ears and at the nape of the neck. If you see your child scratching please take a look. Head lice are spread through person to person contact with hats, clothing, brushes and etc. Lice do not jump or fly. Please talk with your children and encourage them not share their belongings with others. Parents please be diligent inspecting your child's head daily for the signs of head lice. If you have any questions or would like more education please let me know. Stephanie Kolb BSN-RN, PEL-CSN
