Juniors and Seniors: Looking for something impressive to put on your college applications and scholarship forms:
Become a Lunch Buddy with a student from Mt. Carmel Elementary School. Once a week you would have lunch/recess with the same student. It is a great program to help a younger student feel special. . As a Lunch Buddy you would build self-confidence in your student and also form a valuable relationship with them.
First grade lunch hour is 11:30-12:15 which works well with high school students whom have 5A lunch. Second Grade lunch is 12:05-12:50. As a Lunch buddy you can eat free at the elementary school or bring in a healthy lunch from home. Students usually come on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
The program starts in Oct and through to the end of the school year. If you switch lunch hours during Spring Semester we just have you get a different buddy whom is being serviced. Please speak to: Mrs. Laura Taylor if you are interested. This is an upper level program for Juniors and Seniors. A student must be able to get transportation to elementary school. Your parents will fill out a consent saying you can be off school grounds for the program. Teachers work with you about arriving in a timely manner.
Mrs. Nancy Vargo is the sponsor at the MCES for the program. You may reach her at 263-3876 if you have any questions. The Lunch Buddy program leaves a big impact on the Elementary Students. Please consider volunteering for this program..
We will meet in the Guidance Conference Room on 10/17 during activity periods.
