7/8 Boys Basketball:
Uniform turn-in will be Wednesday, March 23 from 4:30-6:00 at MCGS. Please bring uniforms and practice jersey and be ready to clean out gym locker and return lock. All players will receive a small gift and 8th grade will receive their player stats. See you then!
The MCJHS Scholar Bowl team travelled to Albion March 16th (after a fun lunch at McDonald’s). They led Clay City for the entire first game but ended up losing by only five points on the last question. They then lost to a tough Albion team. Toss-ups were won by Ava Brumagin (1) and Aiden McBroom (11). Great job everyone!
Congratulations to Riley Hershey and Maycee Randall on making the All Southern Illinois All Star Basketball Team! The games were played this past weekend at Rend Lake College. Super Proud of our Aces for representing MCJHS at the All Southern Illinois All Star Basketball games. Go Aces!

The 7th grade boys basketball game scheduled for Thursday, January 20th at Fairfield has been cancelled. There will now be one 8th grade game starting at 6:00pm.
Due to an increase in the absences of faculty and staff, Mount Carmel High School and Mount Carmel Junior High School students will go into remote learning for the rest of this week. January 20 to January 21. Over the weekend, we will assess the situation and make a determination on resuming in school learning. All extra curricular activities will remain on schedule. Stay safe and go Aces.
As a reminder, lunches will be available to be picked up from the cafeteria between 12-12:30 pm while the junior high and high school are in remote learning. On the lunch menu for tomorrow is pizza and Friday is burritos. Stay safe and healthy!!! Go Aces!!!

It is great to have students back in the building after the Christmas break. The students and staff were pleasantly surprised by the new look of the office hallway. It was neat to hear some of their comments to each other as the students and staff were passing through the hallways; "Was this painted? It looks great.", "Wow, you should do this to all of the hallways." and my favorite, "It looks like a brand new building." This project was paid for by the MCHS Alumni Foundation under the direction of Emily Teague.
