AHOY! The MCES Kindergarten Alphabet Parade came to the District office today, singing their ABCs! They are working hard and moving on to their next adventure as Pirates.
ATTENTION: Students on Buses #3, #18, #12, #21, and #2 will be running late when returning home from school tomorrow, Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
District #348 administration is aware of a recent social media trend in the country to make threats to schools. This trend has disrupted the learning environment in schools throughout the country. Today, there were claims and or rumors that Mt. Carmel Junior High School was on a list on a social media platform. School personnel were quick to investigate the claims and immediately made the Mt. Carmel Police aware of the situation. The Police have not been able to corroborate any of the claim; however, they are keeping the investigation open for the time being. In the mean time, all District #348 schools will remain diligent in all security procedures. Also, the Mt. Carmel Police Department will increase their presence in and around the buildings. As always, keeping our school community safe is our top priority.
On Friday, September 20, 2024, all WCUSD #348 students will have a 2-hour early release time. The Homecoming parade will begin at 3:30 p.m.

If you missed the preschool screening event in August, do not worry! Call 618-262-4623 to schedule a preschool screening for your child! Children are eligible to be screened if they are ages 3 to 5 and not age eligible for kindergarten. There are also preschool spots open for enrollment. The District #348 Preschool For All program is completely free and families are not asked to provide snacks or supplies!
~~GAME DAY PARKING ON LOWER LEVEL OF MCHS RIVERVIEW STADIUM~~ There is no parking on Golden Aces Way Road. Parking directly behind Legends Fieldhouse is reserved for athletes, buses, officials, and those on pass gate. It is not open to public parking. Spectator parking at the bottom of the stadium will be at the Junior Aces parking lot on the East side of Golden Aces Way and the side lot of Legends Fieldhouse, which has handicapped parking.

District #348 Preschool for All will be conducting Child Find/Preschool Screenings for children ages 3 to 5 on August 26th, 27th and 28th. The screening checks each child’s progress in hearing, vision, speech, language, and coordination skills. This will give parents a better idea of how their child is progressing at this very young age before they begin school. This screening program is free and parents will receive immediate feedback on how their child is developing. Head Start personnel will also be present to explain their program and services. The screening procedure takes about 45 minutes and appointments must be made so that children do not have a long wait period. CFC screening appointments for children ages 0-3 will be available on August 27th. Parents should call 618-262-4623 to make an appointment or to get more information.

A temporary pedestrian gate at the bottom of Riverview Stadium has been established. This gate will be open during non-school hours so pedestrians can access the track.
