MCHS Athletic Cancellation:
The Mt. Carmel Boys and Girls Golf Invite scheduled for Thursday, August 12th at West Berwick Golf Course has been CANCELLED due to extreme heat. We are currently under a heat advisory until Thursday evening at 8:00pm.
What a great way to start the year!? Many of our wonderful students showed up early to distribute doughnuts to our students, faculty, and staff! Completely on their own! Another example of the great young leaders we have at MCHS. It’s going to be a GREAT year!
Welcome to the first day of school!!! As a reminder, we will be selling parking passes to seniors today at 2:40 in the library. Remember to bring $10, the make and model of your vehicle, and the license plate number. Juniors will have the same opportunity on Thursday and Sophomores on Friday. Students must be 16 years of age or older to purchase a pass. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Steve Holt in the office.
Football practice on Wednesday, August 11, will be moved back to 6:00 due to the heat advisory. Boys will need Helmet and Shoulder pads.
Freshmen - you will need to be in Mr. Mandrell's room (Library) at 5:00 with Sam Hodges (Athletic Trainer) to do a concussion baseline test.
Attached are the step by step directions for parents of athletes, to fill out the necessary paperwork (electronically) that is needed before your student athlete is able to play in an athletic event. Every parent MUST register their student. If a student is not in this system, he/she can't play.

Things are shaping up at the Junior/Senior High.
We have been doing a lot of improvements around the building with more to come. One of them is getting new asphalt for Plum Street near the stadium and the adjoining parking lots. This area was in great need of repair. As you can see from the before and after photos, the project turned out great. This is just an example of the ways that we are utilizing the 1% sales tax money that is collected throughout the county. Thank you for shopping local.
Anyone interested in playing football this year should attend a Player & Parent Meeting tonight at 7:00 in the MCHS Auditorium. We will cover a number of items before official practice begins on Monday, August 9th.

The Marching Golden Ace Color Guard stayed on point while repping and stepping on day two of band camp. The friendly confines of the Hilltop was warm, but rendered gains for these ladies.
The morning had a different vibe this AM at Mount Carmel High School. Band Camp brought the noise and the poise to their start for the 2021-22 season. The Golden Cheering Aces warmed up their “spirit fingers” on their way to Greenville College Camp. It was a great day to be a Golden Ace!

MCHS Marching Aces band camps are gearing up to start! On July 26-29, all Rookies (Freshman & Sophmores), Percussionists, Color Guard and Leadership will begin at 8am upstairs in the MCHS Band Room!
Online Registration for Wabash CUSD#348 is now open. You can find registration information on the district website. School offices will open July 26-August 6, 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. This is also a reminder that HEALTH RECORD drop-off will be open tomorrow (July 19th) from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and again on July 26th, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel High School building for all students requiring health information.
Registration portals for the 2021-2022 school year will be locked for students requiring health records for entrance. Those students entering Kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th grade and 12th grade are required to have physicals and/or immunizations for entrance into school. The Mt. Carmel Jr/Sr High office will be open to drop off those health records so portals can be opened on the following days and times. MCJHS/MCHS will be having some asphalt work done starting Monday, June 21. Therefore, Plum Street will be blocked off and the faculty lots adjacent to it. You will still be able to park in front of the school and in the "Senior/Gym 1" parking lot. The exit to the Gym 1 parking lot will also be blocked off, so you will need to enter and exit on 3rd Street. This project is expected to be completed towards the end of July.
