Mt. Carmel High School Boys Basketball Game Time Change // The game times for the Mt. Carmel High School JV and Varsity Boys Basketball Games vs Fairfield this Saturday, March 6th has been changed. The JV game will start at 11:30 a.m. The Varsity game will start at 1:00 p.m.. The games will be played at Mt. Carmel High School.

MT. CARMEL LODGE #715 HAL R. JOHNSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM RULES The Mt. Carmel Elks Lodge #715 Hal R. Johnson Memorial Scholarship was created in 1999. This program is intended to assist local students in furthering their education and job skills. The scholarship program is funded entirely by Mt. Carmel Lodge #715 and will be administered by a Hal Johnson Memorial Scholarship Committee from the local Lodge. A minimum of one (1) Scholarship Award for a minimum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) will be presented each year. Additional awards and actual amounts will be determined annually. Scholarship applicants must be Children, Grandchildren and Stepchildren of members of Mt. Carmel Elks Lodge #715. Members must be in good standing at the time of application and must have been members in good standing for a period of at least two (2) years prior to application. Scholarship awards will be available to graduating MCHS Seniors intending to attend post-secondary schools. Scholarships can be used at a College or University of choice. Funds will be administered through a voucher system directly to the College upon verification of enrollment. Applications will be based primarily on: Academic Achievement, Extra Curricular Activities, Community Service/Involvement, and Financial Need. The application is available in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Complete all fields on the application and then print the application and provide a signature on page two. Return the completed application with the required attachments to the MCHS Guidance Department for completion of the GPA and Class Rank Section and submittal to the Scholarship Selection Committee. Applicants please note that there is a section on grade point average and class rank that is to be completed by MCHS Guidance Office personnel. Attachments are also required to constitute a completed application. Applications will be available from the Hal Johnson Scholarship website, www.hjscholarship.com, in February of each year. Applications must be completed and submitted to the MCHS Guidance Office by no later than 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021.

It's on!!! The annual MCHS FFA Alumni Chili is still being held this year! No auction items but the delicious chili made by Jerry Tennis is still happening! Come help support the Mt. Carmel High School FFA and drive by the shop (behind the school, top of the stadium) and get your free (accepting donations) chili! Wednesday, March 10th from 5-7 p.m. or until sold out. Serving by the quart and half gallon containers.

Illinois Sheriffs’ Association$500 Scholarship The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association will be awarding over 100 scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to pursue higher education during the 2021-2022 academic year. The student must be enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois. Eligibility There shall be no restriction on any applicant by reason of race, age, creed, color, sex or national origin. The only limitations are the following:• Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents.• Scholarships are to be utilized at institutions of higher learning within the State of Illinois.• Students must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2021-2022 school year(excluding summer session).Please read the following very carefully. WADI Scholarship applications are available in the Guidance office for income eligible students. Deadline is April 15, 2021

Students whose parent/guardian or grandparent graduated from USI and have a 3.5 or higher cumulative high school GPA are eligible to apply for the USI Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship. The USI Alumni Association awards two $1,500 renewable scholarships annually to two outstanding incoming freshmen who are members of a legacy family. Applications are now available with a submission deadline of March 31, 2021. Completed application packets include: Application Resume that includes academic honors/achievements, extra-curricular activities and work experience 300-500 word essay responding to the question, "Who is your legacy connection to USI, and how has that individual impacted your life?" Carmel High School Girls Basketball game scheduled for tonight against Robinson has been cancelled due to COVID-19 issues with the Robinson Girls Basketball program. This contest will not be rescheduled. // The Mt. Carmel Jr. High Boys Basketball game scheduled for tonight against Olney has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict with Olney. This contest will not be rescheduled.

This contest will be made up on Saturday, February 27th in Lawrenceville, with a varsity only game at 5:00pm. // The Mt. Carmel Junior High Basketball Game against Red Hill scheduled for tonight has been CANCELLED due to hazardous road conditions. This contest will not be rescheduled.

This game will be rescheduled for Saturday, February 27th at Mt. Carmel with JV starting at 11:00am and varsity at 12:30pm. // The Mt. Carmel Boys Fresh/Soph Basketball game with Flora tonight has been POSTPONED due to COVID-19 issues within the Flora Basketball Program. We are still looking for a date to reschedule this contest. // The Mt. Carmel Junior High Volleyball match with Lawrenceville tonight has been CANCELLED due to weather. This match will not be rescheduled. // All practices/open gyms scheduled for today have been cancelled. // Tuesday’s Postponement: The Mt.
