IAR state testing for 7th and 8th graders will be starting tomorrow 3/19/24. Please ensure that your student is well rested and ready for these important state test that have a big impact on our school.
REMINDER: Next week Mt. Carmel Jr. High School will be taking the IAR exams on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Student will be turning in their Chromebooks to the designated teacher on Monday (3/18) with the charger to insure that all Chromebooks are ready for testing. All Students will also need a pair of WIRED Headphones for the exams. Please make sure that your all students are in the building on time.

Next week the 8th Grade Science Classes will be taking the Illinois Science Assessment on Tues, Wed, and Thurs. Students please have your Chromebooks fully charged. Also we will be having Spirit Dress up days next week as we gear up for I.A.R testing beginning on March 19th. The dress up days are posted below and on throughout the school.

The Jr. High Volleyball Regionals have been set for March 14th at Richland County Middle School. Mount Carmel Jr. High will play Flora in the second game of the evening starting at 6:00pm. The Regional Final will also be held on the same night starting at 7:00pm

Last night, the School Board approved amending the school calendar to not be in session on April 8th, 2024. This is the date of the eclipse. Due to the excitement and mobilization of entire communities for this event, it became clear that it would be too difficult to be in session that day. To compensate for not being in session that day, the Board approved being in session on April 1st, 2024. April 1st was to be the last day of spring break, but now it will be an attendance day. I hope this change will be beneficial to all of you.

The Jr. Aces Boys' Basketball team will open State Tournament play on Saturday Feb 10th at Rend Lake College. The Jr. Aces will be playing Trico Jr. High School at 10:45 am
The Jr. Aces win the Regional over conference foe Olney 45 - 27 and are headed to the State Tournament. More information on the State Tournament will be available on Monday.
The Mount Carmel Jr. Aces will play for the Regional Championship against Richland County on Saturday. The game will be played at Richland County Middle School at 11:00 am.
