The Jr. High Boy's basketball game on Monday Nov 13th will be played at Mount Carmel HIGH School at 5:30

Mount Carmel Junior High 7th grade students were joined today by Kim Korando, who is from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, to teach about tutor.com. The students learned that they can contact a tutor 24 hours a day and seven days a week to get help with homework, study for test and quizzes, and submit papers for proofreading. This is a great resource that is funded by our Gear Up grant, which is designed to help students achieve success in future college and career decisions. To access tutor.com, go to www.tutor.com/isacgu and login.

The community is invited to attend the 2023 8TH GRADE SCIENCE FAIR Open House on Friday, November 17, 2023 in the Main Gym. 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. Come see our great Golden Aces showcase their projects!

Mount Carmel Junior/Senior High School participated in an intruder drill today. Not only are these drills required by state law, they are also helpful in ensuring the safety of our students and staff if an emergency arises. The staff did a great job in directing the students through the drill and the students did their part in following their direction.

For red ribbon week MCJHS invited our local law enforcement to come hangout with us. We are very appreciative that officer Hopper & K9 partner 11, Deputy Cheadle & his K9 partner Kiki, as well as police officer Sager demonstrated their training/skills via scent tracking, detect narcotics, track personal items of the officer, and everyone's favorite apprehension. Officers also took the time to answer our inquisitive students. A big thank you to our local law enforcement, MCJHS appreciates you!
Here are a few pictures from the demonstration.

Good luck to Zoie Randall, Kenzley Matchem, Isaiah Glenn, and Zeke Meier as they compete in the State Cross Country Meet today in DuQuoin

Great news!!! Mt Carmel Junior/Senior High School has access to Tutor.com for one more year. This website is accessible 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. If your child hasn't used it before, it is a one to one tutoring service. There are actual people on the other end helping your child figure out homework assignments, answering questions while studying for tests, and submitting papers that your child has written for feedback on what can be improved. Additional login information was sent to your child's email account.
